Big Ten Players of the Week: Aidan Chiles and Jordan Hall
MSU gets both offensive and defensive POTW
Two Michigan State players - junior quarterback Aidan Chiles and junior linebacker Jordan Hall - earned Big Ten offensive player and defensive player of the week, respectively, in the Spartans 42-40 double-overtime victory against the Boston College Eagles this past Saturday.
The player of the week honor has not been given simultaneously to two Spartans in the same week since former quarterback Kirk Cousins and defensive lineman Tyler Hoover earned the weekly honors in 2010 in their win against Northwestern.
Chiles finished his monstrous performance with a career-high four touchdowns and the game winning two point conversion completing a pass to senior wide receiver Omari Kelly in the back of the end zone.
On the defensive end, Hall led the Spartans on defense recording a career-high 15 tackles with nine of them being solo tackles.
Early in the game, Hall made a tone-setting play forcing a fumble at the goal line which kept the Eagles from putting the first points on the board. The Spartans offense responded with a touchdown drive finishing with an 11-yard pass from Chiles to sophomore receiver Nick Marsh.
Hall’s impressive start to the season has placed him fourth in the Big Ten in tackles, recording 23 in the first two games of the season.
These weekly honors are the first for both Chiles and Hall.
