Michigan State availability report for Penn State matchup.
As Michigan State prepares for kickoff against Penn State, the Spartans are dealing with a lengthy injury list impacting all three phases of the game.
Most notably, the Spartans will be without starting quarterback Aidan Chiles, who was seen with a boot on his left foot, meaning Alessio Milivojevic will be the starter at the helm.
Continuing on the offensive side of the ball, Michigan State will be without sixth-year wide receiver Alante Brown, freshman tight end Jayden Savoury, junior tight end Brennan Parachek, and offensive linemen Stanton Ramil and Kristian Phillips.
For special teams, the Spartans' redshirt sophomore kicker Tarik Ahmetbasic is out again and hasn’t been healthy yet this season. Redshirt senior and long snapper Kaden Schickel will also be missing from the green and white's special teams threat.
Lastly, the defensive unit is taking the largest hit with five players on the injury report. Defensive backs Nikai Martinez, Ade Willie, and Chance Rucker will be sidelined due to injuries, in addition to linebacker Marcellius Pulliam and defensive lineman Ben Roberts.
In addition to this week's injuries, Michigan State has lost several players who have been ruled out for the season, including redshirt sophomore defensive back Caleb Gash, sophomore defensive back Andrew Brinson IV, redshirt junior offensive lineman Luka Vincic, redshirt freshman linebacker Brady Pretzlaff, redshirt freshman wide receiver Anelu Lafaele, and redshirt junior offensive lineman Ashton Lepo.
