Michigan State offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan reveals philosophy and discusses journey to East Lansing
Sheridan goes into detail about what drew him to Pat Fitzgerald and the Spartans.
Michigan State offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan spoke to the media Wednesday during the second week of spring practice. While Sheridan is brand new to the program, it is clear his unit is starting to understand his philosophy and buy into what the staff is teaching.
Sheridan highlighted the work ethic and progress of his players in just the short time they have been on the field.
"Well, we're certainly better than we were when we started,” said Sheridan. “The kids have had a great attitude and coaching these guys is excellent.”
He also emphasized the daily learning and attention to detail that comes with developing a complex offense; something this program has had to go through several times over the last several years.
"They're learning every single day,” said Sheridan. “There's new techniques and schematics every day that go out there, and kids are working really hard.”
Spring practice gives coaches the chance to evaluate players’ strengths and weaknesses, set expectations, and begin shaping the identity of the offense for the fall season. Sheridan stressed that progress is ongoing.
"We have a long way to go, but we're better now than we were when we started spring ball," he said.
