Analysis: Jonathan Smith provides clues, context on why a third year might be incoming
At his weekly press conference, Smith gave some hints.
If anyone not named J Batt tells you that they know what is going to happen with Jonathan Smith as the head coach of Michigan State’s football team, you’d be wise to approach it with caution.
Including when you read what I write.
I have tried to be clear in my reporting – sharing what I’m hearing from people in and around the football program, but trying not to jump to conclusion based on what those sources say. Because those sources are not Batt – and Batt’s approach in a situation like this is likely known only by a very few select people. And those people aren’t talking much right now.
With all those disclaimers out of the way, I do think that what Jonathan Smith said Monday at his press conference can give us a few clues as to what the future might hold.
If Smith is retained for a third year, you can look back to what he said this week and see why.
