ANALYSIS: Spartans Stifled in Minneapolis
Slow starts, defensive breakdowns, and late urgency leave MSU with too much ground to make up
By Patrick Plunkett
Michigan State’s trip to Williams Arena on Wednesday followed a frustratingly familiar script: a lethargic start, defensive lapses against perimeter shooting, and a late-game surge that proved to be too little, too late.
Despite their No. 10 ranking, the Spartans were dismantled for 37 minutes by a Minnesota team that played far above its sub-.500 record.
