Michigan State Basketball's center position options
Many options are off the board, but many still remain
Heading into the summer, Tom Izzo’s Spartans appear poised to embark on a special 2026–27 season. If Jeremy Fears Jr. returns to the fold after going through the pre-NBA draft process, the Spartans will have nearly everything they need to challenge for a national championship.
Projected minutes:
Fears (30), Medlock (10)
Scott (15), Jervis (10), Teng (15)
Carr (28), Scott (5), Glenn (7)
Ward (20), Glenn (15), Avent (5)
______/McCulloch (20/15), Taylor (5)
Fears and Medlock could form the best point guard duo in the country, while Carr, Scott, Glenn, Jervis, and Teng project as one of the most complete wing groups in the nation.
Although Ward will enter the season as a sophomore, he should establish himself as a force in the frontcourt. Kaleb Glenn profiles as a valuable smaller forward with strong shooting ability, while Julius Avent brings length and versatility as a potential X-factor.
The one missing piece is a bona fide starting center – specifically, a high-level defender, rebounder, and finisher. If the staff fills that spot on the depth chart with the right player, Michigan State becomes one of the favorites. It is that simple.
So who are the top transfer fits for MSU still on the market?
