After a difficult middle stretch of the season, Michigan State Spartans baseball suddenly looks like a team playing with confidence again at exactly the right time.
The Spartans opened Big Ten Tournament play Tuesday morning with an impressive 8-4 win over fifth-seeded Purdue Boilermakers baseball at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, using an early offensive avalanche and another strong outing from ace Aidan Donovan to put themselves in position to keep playing deeper into the week.
