Michigan State Football: Stock Report ahead of Michigan Week
Who in the MSU program is trending up and who is down heading into the in-state matchup Saturday at Spartan Stadium?
Even if this rivalry doesn’t carry the same juice as in past years, it will always means something. For Michigan State, it’s a chance to get back on track after a sluggish stretch that’s seen the team drop four straight games. But as history has shown, records tend to go out the window when these two meet—anything can happen in this rivalry game.
QB Aidan Chiles - stock up
Although Aidan Chiles has experienced some ups and downs since his strong start to the season, he looked more than prepared for the challenge against Michigan State’s toughest opponent last week. The junior quarterback completed 27 of 33 passes for 243 yards and a touchdown, while also leading the team in rushing with 48 yards on the ground.
The Spartans’ game plan worked early — controlling possession, draining the clock, and scoring on their first two drives to keep Indiana’s offense off the field. But football is a team game, and since the Boston College win, Michigan State hasn’t found enough consistent execution across all three phases to turn Chiles’ efforts into victories.
