Michigan State Football: Takeaways from the 38-27 loss to Nebraska
After clawing back from a 14-0 deficit and taking the lead in the second half, it seemed like Jonathan Smith’s team may have been in complete control, but the Huskers regained momentum in an instant and never looked back, taking this one 38-27.Now that there’s been some time to digest this loss, let’s get into some of this week’s takeaways.

Fresh off of a bye week, the Spartans came out flat against Nebraska. A quick scoring drive from the Huskers followed by a blocked punt touchdown put MSU in an early 14-0 hole in a hostile environment.
Despite that early two-touchdown deficit, Michigan State clawed back into the game behind one of the better defensive performances we’ve seen in a long time, and the Spartans took a 21-14 lead in the third quarter. It seemed like Jonathan Smith’s team may have been in complete control, but the Huskers regained the momentum in an instant and never looked back, taking this one 38-27.
