
Michigan State offer is a 'dream come true' for standout 2028 WR Tyler Trusel
In-state class of 2028 wide receiver Tyler Trusel visited Michigan State for the Youngstown game and walked away with a scholarship offer from the Spartans.
Michigan State defeated FCS opponent Youngstown State by a final score of 41-24 on Saturday. MSU brought in several recruits to check out the game-day atmosphere, including class of 2028 standout wide receiver Tyler Trusel, who was offered by the Spartans while he was on campus.
The Brother Rice High School (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan) product is considered a three-star prospect by both 247Sports and On3/Rivals. He currently ranks as the No. 158 prospect overall, No. 19 athlete and No. 5 recruit in the state of Michigan in the 2028 cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Meanwhile, the Rivals Industry rankings have him as the No. 172 player, No. 35 wide receiver and No. 6 prospect in Michigan.
Trusel was ecstatic when Michigan State wide receivers coach Courtney Hawkins extended him a scholarship offer. Growing up in Michigan, it meant a lot to the young athlete.
"Getting the MSU offer was an incredible feeling, honestly a dream come true," Trusel told Spartans Illustrated. "Growing up familiar with the program and seeing the atmosphere around Spartan football, it felt great to know they believe in me."
