Michigan State offer was one rising 2028 WR/TE AJ Henley had been waiting on
Ascending class of 2028 in-state pass-catcher AJ Henley discusses his offer from and visit to Michigan State.
Michigan State offered rising class of 2028 wide receiver/tight end AJ Henley a scholarship on Saturday morning, and Henley was in East Lansing later that night to watch the Spartans battle against rival Michigan for the Paul Bunyan Trophy.
Spartans Illustrated caught up with Henley to get his thoughts on the offer and to learn more about his experience during the visit.
As an in-state prospect, Henley, who currently attends Harper Woods High School, getting the offer from Michigan State is something he has been dreaming of for a long time. It was MSU wide receivers coach Courtney Hawkins who informed Henley about the good news.
"The Michigan State offer felt great," Henley said. "It was the offer I was waiting on, and Coach Hawkins (and I spoke) over the phone."
While MSU lost to Michigan by a final score of 31-20, the atmosphere in Spartan Stadium is something that Henley won't forget.
