Michigan State offers 2027 ATH Aroson Randle Jr., who has strong family connections to the program
Michigan State recently offered rising 2027 athlete Aroson Randle Jr., who has family ties to the Spartans. He also recently visited East Lansing. More here.
Michigan State offered rising 2027 athlete Aroson Randle Jr. on Sunday. It is a special offer for Randle, who goes by "AJ," as he has strong family connections to MSU. Randle also visited East Lansing on Sept. 6 to see the Spartans' exciting double overtime victory over Boston College.
Randle's older brother, Brandon Bouyer-Randle, played football for the Spartans as a linebacker from 2016 through 2019. He played in 30 games for MSU, recording 31 tackles, six tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, one pass defended, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Bouyer-Randle went on to transfer to Texas Tech and then finished his career at Connecticut.
Meanwhile, his mother, Nikkie Bouyer, ran track at MSU during her freshman year and was a Big Ten All-American before transferring to Clemson. She is now in the Clemson Athletic Hall of Fame, and is in the Lansing J.W. Sexton High School Hall of Fame as well.
Randle himself spent time at Waverly Middle School in Lansing, Michigan from 2020 through 2022, but has spent most of his life in North Carolina.
The Garner Magnet High School (Garner, North Carolina) standout spoke to Spartans Illustrated to recap his recent visit and provide his feelings on what the offer from MSU means to him.
"It feels great to get a MSU offer," Randle said. "It’s surreal and full circle because it was my brother and my mom’s first Big Ten offer — my brother in football and my mom in track, she was a Big Ten All-American as a freshman."
While Randle would like to return to East Lansing in the future to learn more about the program, and is considering an official visit to Michigan State when the time comes, there are many things he likes about MSU.
"Just from the football (aspect), the atmosphere is awesome, the coaches are great, and I love Michigan fall weather," Randle said when asked what stands out about Michigan State.
