MSU RB Elijah Tau-Tolliver is 'emotional' as he prepares for senior day
Redshirt senior Elijah Tau-Tolliver is looking forward to senior day vs Penn State at Spartan Stadium on Saturday.
Running back Elijah Tau-Tolliver knows the clock on his collegiate career is ticking.
Four years at Sacramento State before enrolling at Michigan State in January for one final season as a redshirt senior running back, however, has reinforced one thing for him.
“My work ethic. The way I go about (things). The way I work,” Tau-Tolliver told reporters. “That’s what’s going to follow me in life, to whatever’s next.”
As a redshirt junior at Sacramento State, the Sparks, Nevada native worked his way to career highs with 950 rushing yards and seven touchdowns in 2024.
While biding his time for a Michigan State team that has struggled for much of the 2025 campaign, the 6-foot-1, 211-pound Tau-Tolliver never wavered in his faith.
“I don’t think it’s tough to be patient,” Tau-Tolliver said. “I’ve been doing that for a while. Just wait your turn, keep working and you see you can reap the benefits sometimes. So it was great.”
An 85-yard run during the fourth quarter of the Spartans’ 23-20 overtime loss at Minnesota on Nov. 1 showed a little of the burst that allowed him to have the success at Sacramento State he enjoyed.
