Milivojevic provides positive leadership after MSU is eliminated from bowl contention
.
Michigan State quarterback Alessio Milivojevic had a tough game to jump into for his second ever start, not only replacing former starter Aidan Chiles (who was out with a leg injury), but also carrying the weight of the team’s momentum and program identity. After a 28-10 loss to Penn State at Spartan Stadium, the Spartans are now mathematically eliminated from a bowl game, picking up their seventh straight loss.
The loss to PSU wasn't defined by Milivojevic’s mistakes, but a collection of lapses on the field, including protection that collapsed and a lack of momentum. Milivojevic was sacked five times and pressured 21 times. Still, the young quarterback acknowledged the adversity he experienced throughout the game and didn't place blame on anyone.
“It’s tough,” Milivojevic said. “But I trust the o-line fully, I’m going to stick in there and make a play.”
