Michigan State preaching perseverance amid football team struggles
Secondary coach Blue Adams preaches a week-to-week improvement with his players
There is no question that the Michigan State defense has been one of the worst in the Big Ten. Eight games in, the Spartans rank last in points allowed per game and fourth in yards allowed per game.
Even with the team's struggles on defense, there are still games to be played. This week they hit the road in hopes of finding their first Big Ten win this season versus the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
Michigan State’s secondary coach, Blue Adams recognizes the difficulty of playing on the road but sees it as another opportunity to win.
“I think anytime you get on the road you have to pack your defense,” Adams said. “I think it is going to be a tough environment; they’re playing good ball right now. So, we have the weekly task of sticking to our keys, going up there, playing well, trying to minimize explosive plays the best we can and come out with the win.”
Minnesota is a team who is undefeated at home this year and sits with a record of 5-2. Their losses however, each came in blowout fashion.
Adams is disregarding the blowouts and is expecting the Golden Gophers to play at the peak of their powers.
